Imagine peeling off your city shoes, breathing air so clean it almost stings, and tramping through forested hills where every turn feels like you walked into another world. That’s the Nyambene Forest 16km trail: a full-day adventure that starts with rolling paths under a gleaming green canopy, ends with a waterfall chase, and gives you a chance to kick off your boots and swim in a cool, natural pool.

Along the way, you’ll be weaving through thick forest shade, hopping across streams, maybe splashing through mud, with the sound of leaves and water everywhere. The waterfall doesn’t just show up quietly — it bursts over rocky edges and invites you in.
When you reach the pool at its base, the water feels like reward: cold, clean, and perfect for floating or plunging.
This hike isn’t about crushing every altitude or chasing summit views — it’s about mood, texture, contrast. Forest textures, water sounds, sweaty climbs followed by splash-cool rejuvenation. It’s a trail built for hikers who want nature, a bit of challenge, and a whole lot of fun.

It is a great place to shop not too far from New York. We took the bus from Port Authority and traveled through the countryside to get there.
